Add Groups Using SFTP Import: Overview

Regroup allows you to import the groups, channels, directories, contacts and admin data through our SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) file servers using the CSV (comma-separated values) files. 

The organization admin can configure the SFTP import in the SFTP Imports section of Contact Management. You can also automate this process using a script that sends a CSV from your information system to Regroup. 

For an SFTP import, you must have an FTP client. You can complete the SFTP import with the following steps. The steps performed at the organization level apply to any SFTP import and might have been configured for your organization.

  1. Configure the SFTP import  (organization level)

  2. Download a sample CSV for group import

  3. Populate the group information into the sample CSV with the correct input syntax

  4. Map your CSV to correct headers (organization level)

  5. Select the Processing Style (organization level)

  6. Upload the CSV file to Regroup's SFTP server

  7. Receive the email with the import status
