# Alertus Use Cases

#### Alertus Alert Components:

In Alertus, configure alerts with the following parts:

- **Message** - Content Body
- **Profile** - Template with all of the configurations for the Alert (devices, tone, light sequence, desktop template, etc.)
- **Groups** - Location, physical, North/South
- **Duration** - the duration of the alert
- **Cancel** - because they use physical hardware, they have a cancel option for all alerts (not applicable to Regroup unless using a geo-fence).

| Panic Button (Physical) | N/A | Alertus also offers a Geo-Fencing feature. If a Geo-Fence is initiated from Alertus, Regroup can receive the map coordinates and trigger alerts to recipients in that region by either their profile address or dynamic location. The geofence is kept active only through the alert duration configured in Alertus. |
| Panic Button (Desktop) | N/A | Alertus also offers a Geo-Fencing feature. If a Geo-Fence is initiated from Alertus, Regroup can receive the map coordinates and trigger alerts to recipients in that region by either their profile address or dynamic location. Extra Features we are scoping and adding:

**Digital Signage Override**

- Send Text/TTS messages to Alertus Beacons.

**Desktop Alerting**

- Send messages to desktop alert users of Alertus.
- We can pass user info to Alertus to send to a specific individual(s).
- We can also pass the location to Alertus to target devices in certain areas.

**Alertus Mobile App**

- Regroup can send messages as a push notification to the Alertus Recipient App.

**Alertus Beacon**

- Send Text/TTS messages to Alertus Beacons.
- Configure Regroup message to trigger specific configurations in the Alertus beacon, such as the tone frequency the device plays or how often the lights flash.
- Target a specific beacon or group of beacons.
- Pass the location to Alertus to target beacon devices in a specific area.

\*The features in scope are possible using the API integration and groups configured on Alertus.
