[Manage Alertus](https://resources.regroup.com/regroupkb/regroup-add-ons#manage-alertus) # Create Quick Message or Send EverAlert Messages Using Regroup, you can send two types of messages to display on the EverAlert displays: - **Alarms**: These are alarming messages that appear on the EverAlert displays. To trigger this alarm using the Regroup application, you must use the exact **Alarm Definition Title** (defined in the inCloud application) as the **Message Title**. To stop an alarm, you must send a **clear** message. It’s advised that you create a quick message in Regroup for each alarm defined in the inCloud- EverAlert application. **Tip**: You define the alarms in the inCloud application by navigating to the Alarm Definitions under the Admins section on the left navigation panel. - **Instant Messages**: These messages appear on the EverAlert panel for a chosen duration. You can send any content as an instant message to display on the message panel. The message title should be less than 24 characters. The following procedure shows how to send an EverAlert message or alarm. At the end of the procedure (step 6), you can send it or save it as a quick message. 1. Click the **New Message** drop-down and select **Ad Hoc Messages** as the **Message Type**. See the following image: The **Post New Message** page opens with the message type you selected. **Note**: You need not select any recipient. The system selects the EverAlert systems linked with your EverAlert account as recipients. 2. In the **Delivery Method** section, click and select **EverAlert**. See the following image: 3. Click the **Select EverAlert Duration** dropdown and select the required duration. This is the duration for which the message appears on the panel. **Tip**: Selecting the maximum alert duration makes it convenient to send the Clear message whenever required. 4. Select **any** sender profile or sender information in the **Sender Profile** section. This information doesn’t appear anywhere. However, it’s a mandatory field. You can click the default define custom sender profile option. See the following image: 5. In the **Message Content** section: 1. Enter a message subject line in the **Message Title** field.  **Note**: For alarms, the message title must be the exact **Alarm Title** defined in the **Alarm Definitions** page of the inCloud application. Regroup triggers the alarm from the EverAlert system using this message title. 2. Enter the message content in the **Message Body** box.  **Tip**: For alarms, you can enter any sample value. This information doesn’t appear anywhere; however, it’s a mandatory field. In the following image of an instant message, the text Instant Message is entered as the Message Title and the text ‘The school will be closing at 2.30’ as the message body: 6. To save the message as a quick message: 1. Click the **Save as Quick Message** checkbox. See the following image: The Save as Quick Message page appears. 2. Enter a title in the **Quick Message Title** field. 3. To share this quick message with admins, select one of the **Share With** options: - **Only Creator**: Share this with nobody. Only the creator of the quick message can use this. - **All Admins**: Share this with all admins in the organization. You can click the following to enable: - **Modify**: Any admin in the organization to modify the quick message. - **Delete**: Any admin can delete the quick message. - Click the **Select Groups or Channels or Individual Admins** to enable sharing the quick message with a selected group, channels or individuals. 4. Click **Save**. The following is the save button highlighted: A message confirms the creation of the quick message. After you save a quick message, you can send it from the New Message drop-down. You can click the **Schedule for later** checkbox to send the message at a scheduled time. You can schedule a quick message too. See the following image: 8. Click **Send Now** to send the message instantly.
