Set Up Desktop Notification Using RSS: Overview

Regroup’s Desktop Notification software lets you send messages to employees directly at their workspaces or computers. Desktop notifications are best suited for buildings with limited cellular service and locations that don't allow wireless devices inside their organization. You can use RSS (Really Simple Syndication) publication to send desktop notifications.

Regroup provides both RSS and Desktop Notification as add-ons. After you activate the add-ons, you must enable RSS publication for the channels and groups. When channels and add-ons are ready, contact Regroup to create a desktop notification user and inbound RSS feed for you.

To start using Desktop Notification, you must do the following:

  1. Enable the RSS.

  2. Enable Desktop Notification: It is a premium add-on. Contact Regroup to activate it.

  3. Enable RSS Publications from the required channel or group.

  4. Contact Regroup to create a desktop notification user and inbound RSS feed. They will provide you with user credentials.

  5. Install the Desktop Notification Client.

  6. Send Desktop Notifications Using RSS.
