# Manage Phone Types

You can create and manage phone types at the organization level. These phone types can be used across the organization, such as when assigning a phone type to a contact’s phone number or when selecting a phone type while composing a message.

By default, the following phone types are available: Home, Work, Cell, and Others. You can also define custom phone types with your preferred names, such as Emergency.

To access phone types:

1. Click the Settings icon in the top bar.

2. From the left pane, click **Contact Management**, then select the **SFTP Imports** tab within the Contact Management page.

3. In the **SFTP Imports** tab, scroll down to the **Define Phone Types** section.
   
   In the **Define Phone Types** section, the following phone types are available by default.

4. Optionally, you can add descriptions for the existing phone types in their respective **Description** fields.

### Add a Phone Type

In addition to the default phone types, you can create custom phone types with names of your choice.

1. In the **Define Phone Types** section, click **Add a New Phone Type**.
   
   A new row adds below the existing phone types.

2. Enter a name for the new phone type and optionally, provide a description.

You also have the option to delete a custom phone type. The default phone types (Work, Home, Cell, and Others) cannot be deleted.

To delete a custom phone type:

1. Click the bin icon next to a phone type.
   
   The system prompts to confirm the deletion.
2. Click **Remove**.
   
   The phone type is removed. Once removed, it will no longer be available across the organization.
