Move a Group into or Update a Group Hierarchy

You can move groups into a hierarchical structure to manage multiple groups as a single unit or reflect your organization's hierarchy.

To create a group hierarchy, you should have a parent group. To create a new group as the parent, see the topic Create a New Group.

See the following procedure to move a group under an existing group or update a hierarchy:

  1. Click the Recipients tab. See the following image:

    The My Groups page appears.
  2. Locate the group you want to add to a hierarchy in the My Groups tab. Organization admins can also edit groups on the All Groups tab.

Tip: You can click the plus icon (+) to expand the nested groups and the minus icon (-) to minimize them.

  3. Click the vertical ellipsis corresponding to the group name on the right side of the group list.

  4. Click Move. See the following image:

    The Move Group page opens.

  5. Click the Select a Parent Group dropdown. See the following image:

If you update the hierarchy, the dropdown opens with the selected parent group. You can click the parent group name to select a different parent group.

  6. Enter the required group name in the text field. See the following image:

  7. Click Move.

The group you're in now appears nested under the selected parent group.
