Overview of Default Message Settings

The default message settings enable your organization to access standardized message settings for each requirement quickly. While sending a new message, admins can select pre-configured messaging methods with pre-fixed sender information and styles. While sending messages, configuring the channel, or setting up the organization, you can set up default message methods and create sender profiles.

When set up at the channel or organization level, the selected delivery methods appear pre-selected and updatable when sending a new message.

You can set up the following message defaults:

  • Default messaging method: allows you to configure the organization's most relevant communication method as the default messaging method. The selected delivery methods appear preselected and updatable when sending a new message across your organization.

  • Sender profiles: allows you to pre-configure the sender details and how the ‘from’ field appears for a contact.

  • Mandate sender profile: enables all admins to send messages using only a particular sender profile. The senders cannot create or update the sender profile while sending a new message.

  • Call Throttling: call Throttling reduces the number of calls sent from your organization at a time. When you set up the Call Throttling Value, you limit the system from calling only that many numbers in a minute.

  • Delivery Priority Order: define the order and the interval at which the system should attempt to deliver your messages using different delivery methods. You can define the delivery order only for methods such as Email, SMS, Call, and Regroup Mobile.

  • Default Message Type: determine what message type appears preselected when you open the New Message page. If your organization seldom uses a message type, you can add it here. You can choose Quick Message, Ad-Hoc Message, or Message to Channel as the default.

  • Turn on Auto-Translation: The Auto-Translation checkbox appears enabled in the New Message, Quick Message, and Message Template pages; admins can turn it off while sending messages.
