# Overview of Groups
A group is your organization's logical or locational set of people (contacts). You create groups categorizing contacts based on company, departments, teams, roles, locations, external contractors, or any other organization requirement. You can also use group nesting to create and arrange groups according to your organization's logical and locational hierarchy. While creating groups, you can select a Group Type to determine whether the system should receive and store the replies sent by the group contacts.
An organization admin and the assigned group admins can create and manage groups and their members through the **Recipient** tab of the application (Home \> Recipient).
On the **Recipient** tab, you can see the **Organization Groups** section with the following:
- **My Groups**: lists the groups you created or you are assigned with any role. Group admins can manage and send messages to only these groups.
- **All Groups**: lists all the groups in the organization you have permission to manage, view or request access. An organization admin can view and manage all the groups, including the hidden groups. All admins can view Public groups and request access to Restricted groups.
- **Pending Groups**: lists the groups created by anyone in your organization that requires the organization admin's approval. The organization admin can configure the [**Group Creation** **setting**](https://docs.regroup.com/docs/organization-general-settings-2/)as **Open Groups** or **Approval Required** in the Organization Settings section.
