You must select RSS as the delivery method for these messages.  Here is how you send desktop notifications: 1. Click the **New Message** button. The following image highlights the new message button: The post new message page opens. 2. In the **Message Type** section, select from the following options: 1. **Message to Channel**: to send the message to channels, you must enable RSS and create an inbound RSS feed for the selected channel. To learn about enabling the RSS feed, see the topic: [Enable RSS Publications from Channel or Group.](https://docs.regroup.com/docs/enable-rss-publications-from-channel-or-group-2/) 2. **Ad Hoc Messages**: to send messages to groups and individuals, you must enable RSS and create an inbound RSS feed for the selected group. To learn about enabling the RSS feed, see the topic:[Enable RSS Publications from Channel or Group.](https://docs.regroup.com/docs/enable-rss-publications-from-channel-or-group-2/) 3. **Quick Messages**: to send messages to channels, groups or individuals. For more details, see the topic: [How to send out quick messages](https://docs.regroup.com/docs/how-to-use-quick-messages/). The following image shows the new message button and the message to channel option: You can also select these message types directly from the **New Message** drop-down. The **Post New Message** page opens with the message type you selected. 3. Add the required channel as the recipient. Ensure you have enabled the RSS feed for the channel. To learn about enabling RSS feed, see the topic [Enable RSS Publications from a Channel.](https://docs.regroup.com/docs/enable-rss-publications-from-channel-or-group-2/) Contact Regroup to create the inbound RSS feed to this channel. 4. Select **RSS** as the delivery method. The following image highlights RSS selected as the delivery method: 5. Select a **Sender Profile** or create one. 6. Enter a message title. 7. Enter the message content. 8. In the **RSS Duration** section, select either of the following: - **Always listed**: The message will expire after 15 minutes. - **Duration**: You can set up when the message expires. By default, this option is selected. **Tip**: Select the duration of a minimum of 5 minutes before the message disappears without being closed out. 9. Click the **schedule for later** checkbox to schedule sending the notification later. 10. Click **Send Now** to send the notification.
