To receive translated messages, recipients need to select their preferred language during sign-up or in their profile. Preferred languages can also be managed by Regroup Admins with access to Contacts or via CSV and API contact management. Not all languages are supported in both written and text-to-speech formats. Select the **"Enable Auto-Translation on this alert"** checkbox on the New Message page after creating your message content or selecting a template. You can select specific languages to be excluded from the Auto translation if you prefer the original message content to be respected over the recipients preferred language. **Note:** Only languages detected as the preferred language of at least one message recipient will be displayed here. If no languages are available for exclusion, it means none of the recipients have a preferred language set in their profiles, and all will receive the original message content.![](https://resources.regroup.com/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/SCR-20250314-mwpp.png) 1. You can use the Preview option to review the auto-translated content. Select the different versions from the drop-down in the top right on the **Preview** **Message** pop up. ![](https://resources.regroup.com/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/SCR-20250314-mzbl.png) **Note:** Only languages detected as the preferred language of at least one message recipient will be displayed here. If no additional languages are available for Preview, it means none of the recipients have a preferred language set in their profiles, and all will receive the original message content. 1. After selecting one of the alternative languages you have the option to manually edit the translated Email and SMS content. **Tip:** If you want recipients with preferred language to also receive the original content you can use the Edit Translation to manually add the English version.
